The compression release mechanism in the KTM camshaft is very similar to the setup used on just about every single riding lawn mower engine I've ever worked on lol. These compression relief mechanisms are famous for breaking on mower engines. As far as dirtbikes go, I've always owned two strokes so never had to deal with these on my bikes. I can imagine how difficult it would be to attempt to kick over a single cylinder 4 stroke engine this large. 😬
